Shu Qi, Lee Sinje Netflix Thriller ‘Returned’ reveal first teaser

Variety Can exclude the first teaser for ‘The Resurrected’, Netflix’s supernatural revenge thriller with Shu Qi and Lee Sinje in their Chinese-Taal streaming debut.

Co-directed by Leste Chen (“Eternal Summer”) and HSU Chao-Jen (“Living”), the series takes place in the fictional city of Benkha and revolves around two mothers united by hatred, looking for revenge for their daughters caught in a fraud and kidnapping case. With the help of a mysterious goddess, they revive the deceased leader of the fraud schedule to punish him. Despite the inflicting of ruthless pain, their anger remains unparalleled. While dark secrets unravel, their alliance is tested, forcing them to confront the limits of justice and their own morality.

The cast includes the much-praised actresses next to Fu Meng-Po as the villain-like scam Kingpin, with Golden Horse winner Alyssa Chia and the Thai actor Sukollawat Kanaros (AKA Weir) celebrated in special performances. The ensemble is completed by Chung Hsin-Ling, Caitlin Fang, Lin Ting-Yi, Liu Chu-Ping, Vivi Chen, Rexen Cheng and Patrick Nattawat Finkler.

The series is produced by Bernard TK Yang and Emma Duan, with a scenario by Shen Yang, Yi Shuai-Jie and Luo Hsiao-Rui.

Shu Qi said: “I am really looking forward to it. When I received the script for the first time, I felt that it was a daring and grievous story not only for me as an actress, but also for the Chinese language series in general. I have already seen some rough cuts during the nasynchronization, but I still went,”! “

Lee Sinje added: “I have never encountered a women’s story that is so intense, a little wild and deep emotional. It was such a sensation to be part of it, and of course I am even more excited for the day we can share it with the public all over the world.”

Fu Meng-Po, who took on the antagonistic role, said: “The storyline is both fantastic and exciting, and the moral conflicts between the characters are absolutely moving.”

“The Resurrected” is part of Netflix’s 2025 Chinese language slate, after “forget you not” and “I am married … but!” The two-part mystery “had not seen the sun” of the makers of “Someday of One Day” Chien Chi-Feng and Lin Hsin-Huei is also planned for later this year.

“The Resurrected” will premieres worldwide on Netflix on October 9.
