Series Mania buyers in advance reveal the first edition on the first edition
Erik Barmack’s “Fusion”, “Riot Women” and Epic Fantasy “War of the Kingdoms” by Sally Wainwright, are as potential highlights on the first buyers of the Mania Forum Series, whose line -up Tuesday was announced by series Mania -founder and director -general Lauruurence Laurens general.
On March 24, a beta -brunch starts on March 24 and the buyers also contains the latest series from ARD, ZDF Studios, Mediawan, Sidus, Beta Film, Slot Machine, Reinvent and Bande à part films – which ensures a wonderful prospect.
The advance also underlines two trends: a switch to the English -language production that has larger sales perspectives of the US streamer; An increasingly attractive financing model, at least for selectively produced shows abroad, based on tying partners and pre-sales at local broadcasters in Europe instead of waiting for the currently very challenging American interaction with a streamer.
Part of producer distributor Erik Barmack’s Drive at Wild Sheep Content in “Top Talent from smaller countries”, “Fusion” marks the first project that goes into production of the new Icelandic production Powerhouse ACT4. It was co-created and written by the leading Icelandic TV series producer Hörður Rúnarsson (“Long Wij Live”, “Black Sands”). Wild Sheep is supported by the MediaPro Studio.
The newest from Wainright, (“Happy Valley”, “Last Tango in Halifax,” “Gentleman Jack”), On the way to BBC and Britbox in the US and Canada, “Riot Woman” is produced by the British Drama Republic (“Doctor Foster”).
Also in the mix: “War of the Kingdoms”, produced by the German powerhouse Constantin, an epic medieval fantasy repair of the heroic legend “The Song of the Nibelungs.” With a weight of around € 45 million ($ 47.25 million), this is the largest budgeted German production ever.
