‘Selling Sunset’ alum Christine Quinn reveals why she left California and returned to Texas

“Selling Sunset” alum Christine Quinn revealed why she left California and moved to Dallas, sharing all her favorite things about living in the South.
The 37-year-old became one of the most divisive women on TV when she was cast as the villain in her five-season run on the Netflix real estate drama, which premiered in 2019 and is now in its ninth season.
However, after leaving The Oppenheim Group And After the show, Quinn packed up and headed south to the Lone Star State in search of a fresh start – and a return to life as she once knew it.
During a conversation with the Dallas Morning NewsQuinn revealed that her decision was not only motivated by a desire to leave California, but also by a need to return to her roots, noting that many viewers may not have realized that she is originally from Texas.
“A lot of people don’t know that I’m originally from Texas. So I grew up here and I went to Southlake Carroll. A lot of people don’t know that,” she said. “My family still lives in the same house I grew up in, and I live in the neighborhood. I’m a suburbanite.”
“Dallas is like my home and Fort Worth too,” she said of her love for the Lone Star State.
She then showed off her favorite spots in the area for a girls’ night out.
“My favorite place for a girls night out, there are so many places. The Gaylord, I love that. Hotel Vin in Grapevine, I love that.
“I also love going to Fort Worth. I’m like a Billy Bob’s, sloppy drunk, Jell-O shots, I absolutely love that. And then I would say White Elephant, just to get scoot and boogie on, right? Those are some of my favorite places,” the real estate agent said.
But Quinn loves more than the nightlife scene Texas has to offer. She also likes the shopping streets.
Although she does most of her shopping online, Quinn noted that there are malls she can’t get enough of.
“My favorite? Online. I’m tired. I’m a mom, girl, online. But if I had to choose one, I’d say Southlake Town Square. Just because it’s convenient and awesome,” she said.
“I like a good fountain here and there, and you know, I like being outside. I like the wind. I like the wind in my weave, you know. I’m that kind of outdoors girl.’

Quinn’s confessions came weeks after Season 9 of ‘Selling Sunset’ premiered and provided fans with plenty of drama.
Fan favorite shortly after release Chrishel Stause revealed during an interview with Rush that she has made the decision to step away from the reality drama, which she has been watching regularly since it premiered in 2019, citing a desire to better protect her own mental well-being.
She admitted that she has seriously considered leaving the Netflix project several times in the past, but noted that the lure of a big payday always kept her from cutting ties with the show once and for all.
“I have gone back and forth on this decision in the past,” she said. “I have to be honest: because I came from nowhere, it’s very difficult to turn down something like this.”
Now, however, Stause says she can put her mental health above all else because “Selling Sunset” is no longer her primary source of income.
“I’m at a point where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of work because it’s no longer good for my mental health,” she said.

Although “Selling Sunset” has yet to be renewed for a tenth season, Stause emphasized that she wishes her castmates the best as they move forward with a new installment.
“If they continue, I wish them the best. If they do another one, I might not watch it again. I don’t know. But I have no ill will toward the show. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it, even if I leave in a way that I would have liked,” she admitted.
The real estate agent also addressed her departure from the show on Instagram, telling fans, “Although the season ended on a bit of a sour note, I will truly always be SO grateful to this show. It introduced me to you and I am very grateful for your support.
“There were a lot of nice memories that I’m going to focus on from now on and you’ll see me again, so it’s not goodbye. Just goodbye for now.”
The news came after she hinted in an interview that she would be leaving the series Variety.
Stause said she “liked this season.” However, she was “excited to move forward with this chapter.”
“The reunion was so brutal. In that moment I realized that I will be done here in the future. I wish everyone the best, but this is not the place for me. It felt a bit like a dog pile,” she added.
