Savannah Guthrie shares Mother’s Day tribute to her missing mother Nancy

“Today” host Savannah Guthrie took to Instagram on Sunday post a heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute to her mother, Nancy, who has been missing since February.

“Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie – we miss you with every breath,” Guthrie captioned her post. “We will never stop looking for you. We will never have peace until we find you. We need help. Someone knows something that can make a difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward will still be available. Please keep praying. Bring her home.”

Nancy, 84, was last seen at her home in Arizona on January 31. On February 2, the Pima County Sheriff said he believed Nancy had not left her home “on her own.” A person was briefly detained in connection with her disappearance, and doorbell CCTV footage was recovered, showing the possible perpetrator trying to enter Nancy’s front door. Despite the sporadic evidence, little progress has been made toward Nancy’s recovery.

In early April, Guthrie participated in Good Shepherd New York’s digital Easter gathering to share a message of hope and reflect on her mother’s unsolved kidnapping.

“Maybe this is too dark a message to share on Easter morning, but I have long believed that we miss out on fully celebrating the resurrection if we don’t acknowledge the feelings of loss, pain and yes, death,” she said. “It is the darkness that makes this morning’s light so brilliant, so dazzlingly beautiful. It is all the brighter because it is so desperately needed.”
