Savannah Guthrie Kidnap Horror: The kidnapping of a sick mother

Police believe Nancy was snatched while she slept after being dropped off at her home by her son-in-law Tommaso Cioni at around 9.45pm on January 31. She had just had dinner with Cioni, 50, and daughter Annie, 56, Savannah’s sister.

But when Nancy failed to attend her usual Sunday morning church service the next day, a concerned friend contacted her children, who eventually reported her missing, authorities said.

Savannah, 54, was spending time with her husband and two children before her scheduled flight to Italy for NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage when she reportedly received the heartbreaking call that her mother had disappeared.

She has since stepped down from her Olympic cohosting duties as more than 100 investigators continue to search for her mother.

Inside Nancy’s $1 million home — which she bought with her late husband in 1975 for just $85,000 — police said they found her car, cell phone and smartwatch, which stopped syncing with her pacemaker around 2 a.m. on Feb. 1.
