Sarawak to host PATA Travel Mart 2026 | News
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is pleased to announce this PATA Travel Mart 2026 (PTM 2026) takes place in Sarawak, Malaysia on the Borneo Conference Center Kuching (BCCK) from August 18 – 20, 2026. The event, generously supported by the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Artsorganized by the Sarawak Tourism Board, and supported by the Business events Sarawakmarks the first time the association’s signature travel fair will take place at the destination.
PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid said: “We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak, the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) and Business Events Sarawak for recognizing the strategic importance of the tourism economy and for their commitment to organizing PATA Travel Mart 2026. As a long-standing and valued member, STB has consistently supported a wide range of collaborative initiatives over the years. PTM 2026 will not only align at the visit The Malaysia 2026 campaign and PATA’s 75th anniversary, but also marks STB’s 45 years of membership in the association, making it a truly special occasion for Sarawak, PATA and all participants.”

STB has been a member of PATA since 1981 and is a committed partner in advancing PATA’s initiatives to promote destination resilience and sustainability. Sarawak was among the destinations in the Asia-Pacific region to implement the Tourism Destination Resilience (TDR) capacity building program, which was launched in 2024 in partnership with PATA. The two organizations also continue to collaborate on strategic initiatives including carbon offset projects, joint advocacy and policy development, sustainable urban tourism, biodiversity conservation and capacity building for green hospitality.
With a strong foundation of collaboration already in place, Sarawak is the ideal host for PTM 2026. The destination is a strategic location to convene global tourism professionals committed to shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future for the industry.
