‘Saiyaara’ rises; ‘Superman’ hangs hard; Stephen Colbert Fallout
Indian cinema visitors are the gaps about the romantic comedy by Gen Z, “Saiyaara” that has enlightened the cash register in Bollywood and beyond.

With “Saiyaara”, which translates into “Wandering Star” in English, the film hit a nerve and distributor Yash Raj Films achieved an unusual approach to bring the film to the market, says Ramachandran.
“They have adopted the less is-more strategy. They let the content talk,” says Ramacandran. “So they turn off the songs. They turn off the trailer, which was a very well cut trailer. They kept the main pair [of actors] Fairly quiet. It is only the director who spoke with the media, including Variety. Stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda did not do any promotional performances. They did not visit any shopping centers. They did not visit cinemas. There were no influencer appearances and they were not everywhere on social media. So there was a thirst for people to know more. ‘
“Saiyaara” contributes to a profit of 14% on an annual basis for the Indian cash register, Ramaclandran adds.
As for “Superman”, Rubin says that the second weekend of his run was solid, but there are still questions about whether it is strong enough to lay the foundation for 10 years of films that are still coming. Next year Warner Bros. And DC try to build on the momentum with “Supergirl” and “Clayface.”
“The second weekend shows that there is genuine interest in this film. It is well received, which is very important to earn back the goodwill from DC fans, but it really is not this run away, unmistakable smash,” says Rubin. “So there is still this wait -and -see element about how much excitement there will be for the franchise without superman like the selection character.”
When keeping up with the reaction to the Bombshell July 17 news that CBS “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” will learn after the 2025-26 season, says Steinberg that this news has become so much more difficult than most cancellations because of what it says about the State of Broadcast Network TV. And the Trump factor – the fact that the parent company of CBS has just reached the president of $ 16 million – is impossible to ignore, given the history of Colbert about Trump’s skewer.
“Yes, there is still a debate about whether CBS has canceled this because of this upcoming merger with Skydance and Stephen’s tendency to anti-Trump humor, or simply because late night is not so great,” says Steinberg. “But the fact is that this show is leaving. CBS goes out of this company. They have left it in recent months and cancel the 12:30 Show with Taylor Tomlinson. And now this program is also a difficult time that is a difficult time.
