Ryan Serhant Launches New Short Series ‘The Broker.Age.’

Ryan Serhant, the real estate agent and star of Netflix’s “Owning Manhattan,” is now expanding into creating original short-form scripted programs with a new series called “The Broker.Age.”

The 10-part series is a comedy set in the world of real estate.

“The Broker.Age” follows a group of young adults just starting out in the real estate industry. They hire Carl Highmen (get it?), the original New York power broker from the landline era, who loses everything in a divorce and is forced to retire to make ends meet by joining the Gen Z real estate team.

Alex Shafer plays Carl. He is joined by Samantha Nugent as Miranduh, Daxx Wieser as JoJo and Sajda Waite as Cynthia.

In a statement, Serhant said: “We’ve built the largest content-to-commerce ecosystem in real estate, and we’re now expanding into original scripted programming: short, vertical, shareable and built for the way audiences actually watch today. The new series is called ‘The Broker.Age’ and it’s a comedy series set in the world of real estate, with sharp, character-driven episodes, and built for today’s platforms. It’s ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ meets…TikTok.” He added: “So much of real estate content is about the success and shine (and we are responsible for that too). We wanted to make something about the work, the process and the grind – and make it funny and entertaining and capture the attention of so many young people now starting out in their professions.”

Ryan Serhant and Serhant Studios will produce all 10 episodes and the series will stream on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.

Last year Serhant spoke with Variety about his company and shared the motto that drives him to success: “Expansion, always in every way.”

In addition to executive producing “Owning Manhattan” and now “The Broker.Age,” Serhant announced he was expanding his real estate business to California. The broker operates throughout California with a group of agents in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Marin County and Tahoe.

Could ‘Owning California’ be in the works as a spinoff for the real estate agent?
