Fresh off Bad bunny‘s anti-ICE statements at the Grammy Awards, Roger Goodell don’t expect an encore during the Super Bowl Halftime Show … telling reporters he thinks the music superstar will use the stage to unite, not divide, the crowd.
The NFL Commission was asked Monday about Benito’s political acceptance speech at Sunday’s event … and whether he expected a similar message to be delivered when he took the field at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8.
Bad Bunny says “ICE OUT” at the #Grammys and receives a huge standing ovation:
“We are not wild, we are not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans. The hate becomes more powerful with more hate. The only thing more powerful than hate is love.… pic.twitter.com/IFzvguqdCR

Goodell said Mr. Bunny was right for the gig for two reasons – BB is “one of the greatest artists in the world” – but he also “understood the platform he was on, and this platform is used to unite people and to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents and to be able to use this moment to do that.”
“I think artists have done that in the past,” he added. “I think Bad Bunny understands that and I think he’ll give a great performance.”
Goodell was also asked about ICE’s presence during Super Bowl week… and he said safety is always the top priority for an event of this magnitude… and that there have been no changes compared to previous administrations.
If TMZ Sports previously reported, immigration operations are not planning to go down in the room when the Seahawks and Patriots face off…but there will be cops around.
Whether it’s Bunny and Green Day, they are too scheduled to perform before kickoff — actually keeping their opinions to themselves is one thing… but it’s clear they’ve been instructed to keep it inclusive.
