Rob-Will is killed while Carter is kidnapped

SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers from the ninth episode of ‘Dutton Ranch’, ‘El Padrino,‘ which is now streaming on Paramount+.

This season of “Dutton Ranch” flew by at warp speed. Sure, it only lasted nine episodes, but there was a lot packed into it. We met the Jackson family, who made the Duttons seem downright wholesome! There was sex, murder and lots of tense conversations between big men in big trucks. But how did it all end? Read on to see what happened and how it will change the future of Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser).

  • Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) calling Beth a “little bitch” in front of Rip? You’re lucky you only get hit, dude! Bonus points for Beth smoking quietly in the background.
  • Ooh… nice fight! Rob-Will smashing into the truck’s grill was a clutch movement.
  • Smart of Beth to quickly look at the cooked books during the fight.
  • Oh, interesting – I didn’t know how deep into the criminal enterprise Beulah (Annette Bening) was.
  • Ugh, poor Everett (Ed Harris) will be heartbroken once he realizes Beulah is a hardcore criminal.
  • Wow, the Jacksons are sick people! Poor cows that are split open to put medicine in them. I hate them!
  • Buckets of medicine! So many drugs!
  • Whoa, Harris gives a suitably angry performance. I like the passion.
  • Uh oh, this motorcade is daunting!
  • Damn, is Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba) going to get everyone killed for bringing in Mariano (Raoul Max Trujillo)?
  • And now Oreana (Natalie Alyn Lind) is too pregnant?!? I can’t handle this… Jesus, take the wheel…
  • “As my father would say, I was raped.” I’m still mad at Beulah, but hearing her tell this story is heartbreaking.
  • After all this, we learn that the sheriff’s first name… Handy?!? Good stuff and great delivery from Beth.
  • Aww, Zachariah (Marc Menchaca) and Azul (JR Villarreal) are so loyal. So love them!
  • Beulah, you’ve been, uh… accidentally been dealing fentanyl for 15 years? I don’t believe you!
  • Goodbye, Beulah. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay with Everett!
  • Carter (Finn Little) throws a tantrum and lives like a recluse, unfortunately that’s not that exciting.
  • Rob-Will is compulsive in his need to do the wrong thing every time.
  • Classic Beth, storming into a company and eating out the office manager: “Suck some dick, Denise.”
  • Again, how stupid must Tommy (James Eddie) be to grasp Beth?!? Nice to see that he is immediately laughed at.
  • Laughing at Rip who winches Tommy into the air by his leash. Hopefully someone will get a hold of him someday!
  • I love Beth jumping out of her truck and immediately pointing her gun at Beulah.
  • Not to objectify the show’s leads, but Beth and Rip are wearing their most popular cowboy gear of the season in this episode. Let this sexy couple live in peace!
  • I’m sure Carter and Oreana running away together will go completely smoothly.
  • “I want you to kill your brother.” Damn, I think there’s a reason they call Mariano El Padrino!
  • Ooh, this band sounds pretty good! For anyone curious, they’re called the Ransom Brothers.
  • Who doesn’t love a good “preparing for war” series? They are loading so many weapons!
  • This shootout is so exciting! Everett is the MVP considering he just now heard he was going to kill boys tonight.
  • So many bodies! Where can they take all this?
  • “This place just eats what it loves and keeps the bones.” Err, who knew Rob-Will was such a poet?
  • And that’s the end of Courtney! Rob-Will, we could have used more of your dirty energy this season and are sad to see you go. Will Oreana avenge your death?
  • I have a feeling the place where they dumped all the bodies is a… small more remote…
  • So getting Carter back is the new mission…
