Prince William’s threat against Andrew over the Royal Lodge involved his daughters

Maitlis claimed that King Charles III was also instrumental in efforts to finally get Andrew to leave the large 30-room estate he has lived in since 2004. The palace is said to have tipped off journalists that there was “possible traffic passing” outside the Royal Lodge, causing a media frenzy.

“What we heard on Thursday was that Charles, fresh from the Vatican and his audience with the Pope, would come through the Royal Lodge to be seen, in other words, to read the riot act to his brother,” Maitlis explained.

“No one would film the conversation or see him get out of the car, but there would be a moment when King Charles’ car on the way to Royal Lodge was caught on camera,” the longtime journalist claimed.

“What happened, I understand, was that the Palace then became very nervous. When they saw the helicopters and helicopters, they thought this had all gotten too big, this has gotten out of hand, they canceled the whole thing. The king just went straight home and never came.”
