OpenClaw is finally available on Android and iOS

The automation crustacean is crawling to a mobile device near you.

By that I mean that OpenClaw – the free, open source AI agent that took the internet by storm earlier this year – is finally available as an app on iOS and Android. Open Claw announced the news on X on Tuesday.

Both platforms let you connect your phone to the OpenClaw Gateway, a kind of routing layer that connects your requests to AI agents and the tools and skills those agents use to get things done.

The advantage is that you can use your OpenClaw agents from your pocket and, if you program them correctly, they can be quite helpful in getting things done. OpenClaw users do put it to work in everything from coding to meal planning, although some have reported less than desirable results.

OpenClaw went viral earlier this year around the launch of MoltBook, a social media site reportedly populated entirely by agents. In February, OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger announced that he had joined OpenAI.

It was later revealed that the MoltBook spectacle was partly the work of people posing as agents. according to researcherseffective theater that doubled as marketing for OpenClaw (which also cost credibility). Still, the stunt pointed to the agent’s future, which has continued to expand ever since. Agents are now embedded in the AI landscape and are appearing in more places every day, including on your phone.
