Mystery is deepened over the last cancer -struck days of Julian McMahon

Almost all the property of the city center is the property of the church or its affiliated companies.

“I wondered if Julian McMahon was a scientologist since he died in Clearwater,” wrote a local on Instagram.

“Why would he live there for the last few months of his life there?” Another posted on Twitter.

Despite intense and growing online speculation, there is no public record that connects McMahon, his 47-year-old wife Paniagua, daughter Madison, 25 or ex-woman Brooke Burns, 46, at the Church of Scientology.

A search in Scientology databases did not yield a connection and neither McMahon nor his family once spoke publicly about religious preferences.

Nevertheless, the location has raised eyebrows. “People don’t just end up in Clearwater by chance,” said a source. “You go there in front of the beach, to retire – or because of Scientology. And Julian was not at retirement age.”

McMahon and his wife sold their Malibu ownership in 2017 and later mentioned their 4.4-hectare avocado and lemon ranch in Somis, Ventura County, California.

That house, with a residence in Hacienda style with three bedrooms, was brought again in July 2023 and sold in October.

Since then there were no stated permanent addresses for the couple, apart from a business contact for a famous accountant in Encino, California.
