Ms. Pat signs an extended deal with BET Studios

Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee has signed an extensive exclusive agreement with BET Studios.

Under the multi-year agreement, an extension of her pact with the network in 2022, the comedian will develop, produce, write and perform original programming across BET’s platforms and within the broader Paramount umbrella. Ms. Pat will also have the ability to sell content to third-party studios.

The deal includes Ms. Pat’s existing series, including her scripted comedy “The Ms. Pat Show,” recently renewed for a sixth season.

BET announced the news and also revealed the June 30 season 3B premiere date of “Ms. Pat Settles It,” the comic’s courtroom series. Celebrity judges for the next ten episodes include Carmen Barton, Deray Davis, Karlous Miller, Nene Leakes, Jasmin Brown, Safaree Samuels and Navv Greene.

“Ms. Pat is one of the most distinctive voices working in television today, and the expansion of our partnership reflects both the strength of what she has already created and our confidence in what lies ahead. We are proud to give her a broader platform within BET and beyond,” said Aisha Summers-Burke, EVP and chief creative officer at BET Studios.

“At BET, we are proud to champion the voices that move our culture forward. Ms. Pat is one of those voices; bold, authentic and deeply rooted in the lived experiences of our community. We are proud to give her an even greater platform to tell the stories that connect us all,” said Louis Carr, President of BET.

“BET took a chance on my story when it was messy, loud and unapologetic of me,” Ms. Pat said. “This deal means I get to keep telling the truth, keep building, and keep making space for people who have never seen themselves on screen. I’m just getting started!”
