Molly McNearney devotes the speech of the Gracie Award to ‘Reproductive Freedom’

While accepting a Gracie Award for her work on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Molly McNearney took the opportunity to take directly the pressure that women often look to look perfect.
“I don’t say this for sympathy. Jesus, don’t give me sympathy,” said McNearney on Tuesday evening during the 50th annual Gracie Awards in the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel. ‘You may feel the same thing [insecurity] At the moment, and I need ourselves to realize together – Close your ears – it doesn’t matter! It doesn’t matter. We are all too hard for ourselves. We will all go this out in a few hours, unless you are married to Jimmy Kimmel. ”
Organized by actor and comedian Fortune Feimster, celebrated this year’s winners chosen by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, who honors women’s voices in the media. Top winners were “Dune: Prophecy”, Cristin Milioti, Kathy Bates and Megan Tea Stallion, with Variety Win a Gracie Award for the Power of Women Franchise.
When Stephanie Koenig “The English Teacher” star Gracie Awards accepted for acting and writing the HIT FX show, she thanked the people who took a chance to take her. “Also shoutout to a few guys, a number of cool guys, who helped me get this job. And it was my first writing job,” Koenig added. “Thank you for opening the door. If you are a guy and you have a recruitment power, open the door for women.”

The evening, which was also honored VarietyThe power of women’s female franchise certainly did not shy away from the current political moment. McNearney, who received her prize from husband Jimmy Kimmel, spoke about the importance of “fighting for reproductive freedom” in her acceptance speech. Cam, who performed “American Requiem” from Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” on the Gala, said Variety On the red carpet about navigating everything as a country artist from Tennessee.
“Keep your common sense daily day, because I think it’s easy to lose that,” said Cam. “Make sure you take space where you can. The more personal connection, the more impact you can have on each other.”
The evening was also a celebration of journalists around the world, with national, local and student windners who treat timely topics, ranging from imprisonment to the fentanyl crisis. CBS News journalist Norah O’Donnell, known for her exclusive interview with Pope Franciscus, thinks about the importance of a free press.
“That’s why I came to the company – to be a truth storyteller,” said O’Donnell. “Informing the public is what we do, and you need an informed voters to have a functioning democracy. And so if we don’t have that, we don’t have informed voters, and we need the media to be familiar. That is a great responsibility for all of us as journalists: to ensure that the public still trusts us.”
