Meghan Markle ‘rages’ over Princess Catherine’s solo tour

Another royal source contrasted Catherine’s approach with the backlash surrounding Markle’s commercial partnerships.

The insider said: “Kate advocates argue that she uses clothing institutionally rather than transactionally. They see her clothing choices as a form of cultural diplomacy, designed to focus attention back on British industry and craftsmanship rather than on herself as a celebrity brand.”

The source added: “There is a belief within royal circles that Catherine is consciously ensuring that the focus always returns to public service, national identity and professionalism. Critics, on the other hand, felt that Meghan’s Australian appearances were overshadowed by talk of monetization, affiliate links and personal branding opportunities. That difference in tone is precisely why Kate’s tour has generated such overwhelmingly positive coverage.”

Fashion analysts note that Catherine’s latest wardrobe selections seemed meticulously calibrated to balance elegance, authority and approachability.

Her Edeline Lee ‘Lola’ blazer costs around $1,820, while the matching ‘Averill’ pants cost around $876. The garments were made in Britain using Italian woven fabric.

Designers have long benefited from the so-called ‘Kate effect’, the dramatic increase in sales and international visibility that comes when Catherine publicly wears a label.

In recent years she has prominently supported British creatives including designer Tolu Coker, tailor Chris Kerr and Victoria Beckham.

A fashion insider told us: “Kate understands that when she steps onto an international stage, she doesn’t dress solely for herself. Each outfit becomes symbolic of British sophistication, stability and craftsmanship. That’s why people in the palace believe she remains extremely careful and avoids even the appearance of monetizing royal attention for personal commercial gain.”
