Payne hid many skeletons in his closet and allegedly fought with his sexuality, sent inappropriate messages to fans, used heroin and pressed his former fiancé, Maya Henry, under pressure to have an abortion before they terminated their engagement in 2022.

Henry, who left the late singer for three years, said that his addictions and vices eventually became too much.

She explained: “Initially it was the drug use and addictions that tore us apart. Everyone who has been with an addict understands how difficult that is.

“Although I loved him deeply, he did things that hurt me in ways that I will never fully understand, and he kept hurting me years after we start hurting.”

She hoped that every drug-related incident would serve as a “wake-up call” for him, and she tried to support the restless star in “repairing things” without benefits.
