Kurt Russell receives Crystal Nymph at the Monte Carlo Television Festival

Princess Charlene of Monaco presented the Monte-Carlo Television Festival’s Crystal Nymph Award to Kurt Russell on Tuesday in recognition of his “exceptional contribution to the entertainment industry and his remarkable career spanning more than six decades.”
Prince Albert II joined Russell on stage at the Salle des Princes at the Grimaldi Forum, while Russell was joined at the ceremony by his partner Goldie Hawn.
Princess Charlene also presented British actor Matthew Broome with the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent. After gaining international recognition for his leading role in “My Fault: London” for Prime Video, Broome next appeared in “The Buccaneers” for Apple TV+.
Guests at the festival included Kristin Scott Thomas, Ester Expósito, Lesley Manville, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, John Hannah, David Boreanaz, Aldis Hodge and Kevin McKidd.
The Danish crime drama ‘The Uniform’ won the Golden Nymph Award for best series at the festival. Produced by Miso Film, the show exposes the deadly costs of loyalty and corruption within a fractured and fiercely competitive police academy in modern-day Denmark.
The prize for best film and the special jury prize went to ‘Fadia’, produced by the Israeli-Palestinian Cinema Virgin. The film tackles the subject of femicide in the name of a misplaced sense of family honor.
The prize for the best creation went to the Italian series “Gomorrah – The Origins”, produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya. The show, which begins in Naples in 1977, follows Pietro Savastano – a tough city boy from a poor neighborhood – who is about to enter the criminal underworld as a means of survival.
The Best Actress award went to Yara Jarrar for ‘Fadia’ and the Best Actor award went to Johannes Hegemann for Germany’s ‘Olivia’.
The audience award was won by “Ponies”, produced by Universal Television.
The award in the Feature Reports and News category for the best social or cultural editorial went to “Mission Investigate: The Hunt” from Sveriges Television in Sweden.
The prize for the best geopolitical or conflict report went to “La Guerre, Donald Trump et nous” from Elephant et Mile Production and France Télévisions in France.
The special jury prize went to “Into the Void: Putin’s Foreign Fighters” from the BBC in Great Britain
The award for best original digital creation went to “Next-Door Families – What Makes a Family?” from KBS and Yoo Kyung-Hyun in South Korea.
The best digital document format was created by “La face cachee de l’aéroport CDG la nuit” from OK Charlotte in France.
