Kavan Markwood identified in MLB Clemente Wall Fall Incident

Former university football player, Kavan Markwood, has been identified if the man fell over the clemente wall in PNC Park in Pittsburgh in a critical condition after 21 feet.
South Allegheny High School 2022 graduated, Markwood, 20, fell on the field during the Pittsburgh Pirates-Chicago Cubs MLB match on Wednesday 30 April and was admitted to the hospital. His identity was confirmed Triblive By an official from the South Allegheny School District on Thursday 1 May.
“Everyone in South Allegheny would say that he is a hard -working, very resilient young man. He is a hunter. He needs that resilience now. But he has it,” spokeswoman for the district Laura Thomson told the outlet. “He has touched many lives in South Allegheny. We are a small community. He is a household name here. Everyone knows him.
The spokesperson continued: “He has the prayers and support of the South Allegheny community.”
According to Unpleasant TMZ“ Markwood played university football at Division II Wheeling University in West Virginia as Linebacker in 2023. He left the team for work reasons in 2024.
MLB players marked medical professionals after Markwood had fallen on the right field alert when the Pittsburgh Pirates took the Chicago Cubs. The incident took place during the seventh inning of the game, just after Pirates Player Andrew McCutchen Save a two-run double.
“Hate really what happened tonight. Can’t help, but think of that guy, his family and friends,” shared McCutchen, 38, Wednesday via X. “I pray for him tonight. Let’s think of his loved ones and our families a little tighter hugs tonight. I hope he pulls you all. Good night.”

The live broadcast of the game showed Pirates players in the Dugout who point to the outfield after the man’s fall. Both the Pirates manager, Derek Shelton, and Cubs Manager, Craig CounselWere quickly warning the referees on the field.
“Although it is 350 feet distance or whatever it is, I mean the fact how it went downstairs and then makes it immobile while the piece is underway, I mean that Craig saw it, I saw it. We both came there,” said Shelton, 54, after Wednesday’s game. “I think the referees saw it because of the way it made it. It is extremely unfortunate. That is an understatement.”
Medical professionals treated the fan on the field for a few minutes before they removed it on a golf cart. Players on the field took a knee while the EMTs tend to tend to Markwood. The match took place after the incident with the Pirates who defeated the Cubs with 4-3.
“Tonight, during the seventh inning of the game in PNC Park, a mature man from the right Veldbleachers fell on the playing field,” reads Pirates’ official statement after Wednesday’s game. “Pittsburgh EMS, as well as the Pirates and Cubs Athletic Training Teams and other PNC Park staff responded and responded immediately and managed care. He was transported to the Allegheny General Hospital. There is no further information available at the moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
The Pittsburgh Office of Public Safety offered an update on the incident in a social media post shared on Thursday 1 May.
“This incident is treated as a chance. The patient remains in the hospital in critical condition,” they shared through X. “The Pittsburgh police do not expect that extra updates will be provided to the public.
