Kathy Griffin Claims She’s ‘Banned’ From ‘The Tonight Show’

Kathy Griffin took over Instagram Tuesday to claim she has been banned from Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show.” She also slammed Fallon for hosting UFC legend Conor McGregor, who was as well found liable in a sexual offense case in 2024 and ordered to pay $257,000 to a woman who accused him of rape.

“I haven’t done the Jimmy Fallon show since it was at 12:30 Eastern and Pacific, so I guess I’m banned from the Fallon show, or inappropriate, or too controversial,” Griffin said. “I don’t even know. When you get banned from a show – and if you guys know me, I’m banned from most of them. You’re welcome, America and Indonesia. They don’t normally tell you that you’re banned. They just can’t find a space for you.”

A representative for “The Tonight Show” declined to comment. Sources close to the situation indicated that Griffin’s claim was exaggerated. A representative for Fallon did not immediately respond Variety‘s request for comment.

Griffin took aim at Fallon for presenting McGregor, a decision she deemed a “bad choice.” McGregor appeared on “The Tonight Show” on June 16 to promote his upcoming UFC comeback fight against Max Holloway.

“I think the Fallon people made a mistake getting Conor McGregor involved,” Griffin said. “I think it sends another message to women and marginalized people everywhere that we are not equal and you can do anything to us and the perpetrators will still be glorified out there.”

Griffin added in the caption of the post, “Fallon, what kind of message are we sending here?! AND can we please save canceling people for those who really deserve it? Watch this week’s episode of ‘Kathy Griffin: Talk Your Head Off’ now on my YouTube channel!”
