Jon Stewart slams Donald Trump because Jesus’ photo was ‘Me as a doctor’

On this week’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart went after President Donald Trump for trying to justify posting a now-deleted photo depicting himself with Jesus healing the sick on Truth Social by saying he thought it was “me as a doctor.”
Stewart pulled out the photo for his audience and immediately focused on the sick man lying in bed before Trump. The late night expert joked that he and the man share an uncanny resemblance.
“I know I don’t have the strength and grit of my MTV days, but I didn’t know we were here yet,” Stewart joked. “I didn’t realize that my appearance had reached leprosy territory. From the photo, it looks like I was touch-and-go for a while. But thank God I was surrounded by family in my time of need.”
Stewart then explained that “not everyone in the Christian community took too kindly” to Trump’s post. He said the backlash was so bad that Trump was “forced to come up with his own incredibly plausible cover story.”
The show then cut to a segment of a reporter asking Trump if he posted the photo of himself as Jesus. Trump responded: “It was me. I posted it and I thought it was me as a doctor.”
“Do you even enjoy lying to us anymore? Is this over?” said Stewart. “Has this relationship grown stale? Your lies used to have a real spark. ‘They’re eating the cats and dogs! Venezuela stole the 2020 elections!’ And now the best you have is, “Uh, no, I wasn’t Jesus. I’m a doctor!’ You need to go back and find your happy place, and quickly.”
