Jon Stewart Calls Trump a ‘Man-Baby’ for ‘Meet the Press’ Walk Out

On Monday night’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart blasted President Donald Trump for abandoning his recent “Meet the Press” interview despite interviewer Kristen Welker’s ruthless fact-checking.

“You might think of this as the hissy fit of an incredibly vulnerable man-baby, whose paper-thin skin can’t bear to venture out of the sycophantic embrace of his tongue-bathing acolytes,” Stewart said. “Or actually, I don’t know how else to see it. That’s actually it. It’s sad. It’s very sad.”

Tensions began to bubble during Trump’s “Meet the Press” interview, when Welker pressed the president on whether he planned to move forward with his controversial $1.8 billion “anti-armament fund,” aimed at protecting individuals who say they have been prosecuted by the federal government, including those who invaded the Capitol on Jan. 6. Trump said those involved in the riot had lost “everything” in the aftermath, and on the day “they had FBI agents leading them into the riot.” building.” Welker walked back that last claim, telling Trump he “had no evidence for that.”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with the armaments fund,” Trump told Welker. “I like the idea because people like you, the fake dirty press, the corrupt press, people like stupid Biden, he’s not smart enough to know what’s going on, but people who surrounded him, surrounded his beautiful Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, what they did to people’s lives, they destroyed people. They sent people to jail who did nothing wrong.”

The conversation then turned to the 2020 presidential election, which Trump called “rigged.” He also made allegations of fraud in California’s election system. At every turn, Welker repeatedly checked Trump’s facts.

Ultimately, Trump had enough. Before storming off, he told Welker, “You’re a one-sided, crooked network. Sorry. Let’s stop it because I’ve had enough. Thanks, honey. Have fun.”
