JFK Jr’s Secret Drug Spiral, New Book Exposes Brutal Struggle

JFK Jr.’s close friend since their teenage years at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, Chermayeff said that JFK Jr. was probably attracted to marijuana because it “frees you from self-obsession – and that was a medicine for him, because he came from a place where your damn family is brilliant.”

He added that while at school, students gathered in JFK Jr.’s room, where Chermayeff claimed they would “smoke weed and experiment with drugs, rock ‘n’ roll and sex, and all the things we loved in the ’70s.”

Chermayeff also revealed that while his friend did not become an alcoholic, he reportedly experimented with other recreational drugs, including “coke in the ’80s and ’90s, more in the ’80s. I think it was sometimes in the ’90s as well.”

He recalled skiing with JFK Jr. while both were reportedly high on mushrooms… and snorting cocaine with him at New York’s infamous Studio 54, where “there was a lot of coke. I used to brag that I never had bad coke, because I never did coke except with John Kennedy.”
