ILM became part of Disney with the acquisition of Lucasfilm van de Muis 2012. But ILM has retained a high degree of autonomy.
Tangcay notes that another distinctive aspect of ILM’s corporate culture is that it has a history of long -term employees and leaders.
“From Janet Lewin, the senior vice president and general manager of ILM, there is so much passion for what they do that people stay there,” says Tangcay. “They have been there for 20 years, 30 years. They love what they do. There is a passion for what they do and how she experienced the way the audience has changed, because of what they do at ILM.”
Also in the episode, Variety TV critic Alison Herman weighs on the new Netflix-inspired comedy “Long Story Short” by the maker of “Bojack Horseman”, Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The show revolves around the life of a Jewish family in the Silicon Valley area. The time frame of the show shifts considerably but never goes beyond 2022, which means that it does not tackle the peak in anti -Semitism or the war between Hamas and Israel that broke out in October 2023.
“I think that many people who are not Jewish will relate to and enjoy the show. But as a Jewish person himself, I found the incredible moving as the show portrays, for example, compliance with Yom Kippur. And instead of joking about fasting and hungry and guilty stumbling and stereotypes and stereotypes – it’s very much.
“I found it very interesting that the show demonstrably bypasses some problems, although it already has a season two, so it could be very good in the future. But it very clearly uses the space that has been made available to talk about topics that are also very Jewish. And I think many Jewish people will almost be relieved to see the show on other aspects of Judaism, says” says. ” Herman says.
