Hunter Biden criticizes CNN’s Jake Tapper for ‘attacking’ stepmother Jill Biden

On CNN’s official account, Tapper posted a video targeting Jill, calling her opinions “kind of limited” based on reading her book. He took particular exception to one passage, in which Jill claimed that her husband, Joe Biden, 83, would have left office if he were on the verge of cognitive impairment.
Instead, Jill, 75, insisted he was “nowhere near” that point during his re-election campaign. She assured readers that both she and his staff would have advised him to step away.
“That’s all very hard to believe, if not downright untrue,” Tapper said.
Furthermore, the journalist explained that he had interviewed “more than 200 people who had supported Joe Biden,” in addition to Axios reporter Alex Thompson, as they worked on a book called Original sin.
He added: “We were trying to figure out what was going on behind the scenes, which resulted in what we all saw during that debate in June 2024, when the president had trouble stringing sentences together and coming up with the right words.”
According to Tapper, these signals had previously been seen by interviewees behind the scenes, according to his interviews. Therefore, Tapper claimed, Jill’s story was false based on his own research.
He also brought up Jill’s specificity in claiming that Joe was sane in the summer of 2024. He questioned the accuracy of her words and wondered why she did not provide the same assurance for other parts of his presidency or even the present.
Tapper concluded: “The most charitable interpretation of Jill Biden’s book is that she is understandably still having a hard time talking about what we all see happening to him and what we have seen happening to him for years. A less forgiving version is that she made it happen and now she’s trying to make an excuse for it, while also hinting here and there that there are things going on that she might not even want to acknowledge to herself.”
