Humanoids, AVs, and what’s next in AI hardware at Disrupt 2025

WAN Disrupt 2025 Moscone West hits San Francisco from 27 to 29 October and brings 10,000+ startup and VC leaders together for three days of daring ideas, groundbreaking technology and future conversations. One of the most expected Sessions that take place on one of the two AI phases Will Spotlight where AI hardware then goes, with a live look at robotics and autonomous systems that push boundaries in real time.
In this session, two of the most visionary builders in the field, Raquel Urtasun and Jeff Cardenas, will enter the stage to explore the current and future state of AI hardware. They will unpack how the new applications make it possible for humanoid robotics and autonomous vehicles. Expected live demonstrationsDeep technical insight, and a look at what is needed to move advanced simulation and embodied intelligence from concept to real-world implementation.

Build the future, all of them
Jeff Cardenas is the co-founder and CEO of ApptronikA people-oriented robotics company that develops some of the world’s most advanced humanoid robots. Focused on designing machines that collaborate safely and intelligently with people, Cardenas Apptronik has supervised by important partnerships with companies such as Google DeepMind, Nvidia and Mercedes-Benz. His mission is clear: making robot practical, capable and commercially viable.
Raquel Urtasunfounder and CEO of Waabiis one of the most respected voices in self -driving technology. As a decorated researcher and entrepreneur, she builds a new generation of autonomous vehicle systems based on simulation and AI. Her work has earned recognition from Time, Business Insider and the Royal Society of Canada, and her company puts new benchmarks in scalable, intelligent AV platforms.
Why this session matters
AI -hardware is no longer just a technical basis – it is the interface between intelligence and action. Whether it concerns robots that can work in human environments or autonomous systems that navigate through the real complexity, the next phase of AI will depend on hardware that can think, feel and perform. This session will investigate progress, challenges and the breakthroughs that form this limit.
