Hotel Solaya Debuts in Old Town Scottsdale, Joining JdV by Hyatt as a Reimagined Desert Oasis | News

A bold new chapter in Old Town Scottsdale hospitality will unfold this spring as Hotel Solaya has officially opened its doors and joined the JdV by Hyatt brand portfolio. After an extensive transformation, the redesigned property introduces a vibrant desert oasis where modern Mexican influences, playful design and the energy of Scottsdale come together to create an entirely new lifestyle destination for locals and travelers alike.

The property features 194 newly redesigned rooms and suites, art-filled common areas, curated dining concepts, an on-site spa and fitness center, and a vibrant outdoor pool terrace designed to capture the social energy of Old Town.

The name Solaya reflects the essence of the experience itself – combining ‘Sol’, the sun, with ‘Aya’, the goddess of dawn – creating a name that embodies radiance, imagination and new beginnings. Inspired by the tranquil glow of the desert and the first light of day, the hotel evokes a sense of awakening, both creative and spiritual.

Hotel Solaya’s design introduces a bold, modern Mexican flair, with interiors designed for natural connection. The property’s sculptural architecture uses a sophisticated play of light and shadow to create an accessible yet elevated oasis. Firmly rooted in the Sonoran Desert, the aesthetic balances rich cultural textures with tonal elegance. Every detail is driven by a sense of creative curiosity, making the experience timeless yet never traditional.

“Hotel Solaya was designed to celebrate the energy of Scottsdale while providing guests with a space that feels both vibrant and welcoming,” said Tobby Rau, general manager of Hotel Solaya. “From the architecture and design to the culinary concepts and poolside atmosphere, every element reflects a sense of curiosity, connection and discovery.”

Increased eating concepts
At the heart of the hotel’s dining experience is Ella on the Park, opening in late spring: a modern American restaurant overlooking scenic Civic Center Park that brings elevated yet approachable dining to Old Town Scottsdale. The restaurant seats up to 150 guests in the inviting indoor dining room and outdoor patio, where signature dishes use smokehouse techniques with a modern American lens, leaving guests feeling both adventurous and grounded. Guests can also gather around the vibrant 360-degree bar, which seats up to 30 people, making it an ideal destination for festive dinners and sunset cocktails. In addition to the dinner service, a delicious brunch menu will be introduced in October.

In the hotel lobby, Common Ground Bistro offers a more casual but carefully curated dining experience. Serving American bistro-style cuisine, the space invites guests to gather throughout the day for freshly brewed coffee, breakfast or light bites – creating a welcoming place for friends, colleagues and travelers to connect.

A social destination by the pool
Upon entering the property, guests are immediately welcomed by The Pool at Solaya, a vibrant and expansive outdoor space designed for both relaxation and celebration. Surrounded by stylish cabanas and lounge chairs, the pool deck sets the scene for sun-drenched afternoons, lively gatherings and what is sure to become one of Scottsdale’s newest social hotspots.

With its bar and grill service, the space offers a playful yet elevated poolside experience, perfect for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy the Arizona sun in style.

Events, parties and gatherings
Hotel Solaya also offers seven versatile event spaces designed to host everything from business meetings to weddings and social parties. The property’s main event space, an expansive 3,500-square-foot outdoor lawn, is ideal for outdoor events, ceremonies and large gatherings that embrace Scottsdale’s beautiful desert environment. For indoor meeting spaces, the versatile, high-ceilinged 2,600-square-foot ballroom provides an airy open space that can be tailored to any vision to create a successful gala, party or reception.
