‘High Potential’ season 2 throws mekhi phifer (exclusive)

Mekhi Phifer has become a member of season 2 “High Potential” at ABC in a recurring guest star, Variety has learned exclusively.

Exact character details are kept under wraps, apart from the fact that Phifer will play a character that becomes involved in major crimes. Phifer appears in addition to series Lead Kaitlin Olson and Cast members Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb, Steve Howey and Judy Reyes.

In television, Phifer previously played nearly 150 episodes in “Er”, while he also led shows such as “Frequency” on the CW, “Lie to Me” at Fox, “House of Lies” on Showtime, and “Truth Be told” at Apple TV+. In Film, Phifer is perhaps best known for his role in the film ‘8 Mile’, while he has also appeared in functions such as ‘Dawn of the Dead’, ‘I still know what you did last summer’, the ‘Divergent’ films and “O.”

“High potential” originally debuted on ABC in September 2024. The series received positive reviews with its release, with ABC picking it up in January for season 2. It is based on the French series “Haut Potentile Intellectuel.” The series returns for his second season this fall broadcast Tuesday at 10 p.m. et/pt on ABC and the next day streaming at Hulu.

Drew Goddard Schiep the series and executive produces together with Sarah Esberg via Goddard Textiles. Todd Harthan Executive produces and serves as a showrunner.
