‘Gilded Age’ Ster John Douglas Thompson joins ‘All sinners bleeding’

The adaptation of the Netflix series of SA Crosby’s “All the Sinners Bleed” has cast John Douglas Thompson in a regular role, Variety has learned exclusively.

Thompson agrees with previously announced series Lead ṣọPẹ Dìrísù in the drama, which was originally announced in May as part of the prior presentation of Netflix. The official logline for the series states: “Held by the early death of his pious mother, the first black sheriff (dances) must lead the hunt in a small Bible belt district on a serial killer who has been chasing his black community in the name of God for years.”

Thompson plays Albert Crown, the father of the Titus crown of Dìrísù.

Thompson is currently appearing in the HIT HBO drama “The Gilded Age” in the role of Arthur Scott. His earlier TV credits include “Mare of Easttown” and “For Life”, while he also appeared in films such as “Highest 2 Lowest”, “Till”, “The 355” and “21 Bridges.” Thompson is a very advanced stage actor and received a Tony Award nomination in 2017 for his work in the piece ‘Jitney’. He won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance in 2014 for “Satchmo At The Waldorf” and received the special price of the organization in 2015.

He is taken back by paradigm and group culture.

Joe Robert Cole adapts “All the Sinners Bleed” for the screen and will also serve as a performing producer and showrunner in addition to directing several episodes, including the first. The higher ground productions of the Obamas and Amblin television also produce executive together with Cosby.
