FortyGuard honored as ‘World’s Leading Sustainable Technology Initiative’ | News

FortyGuard, a leader in urban heat intelligence and mitigation, has been recognized by voters at the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards with the title of ‘World’s Leading Sustainable Technology Initiative 2025’.
FortyGuard combats extreme urban heat with a hyperlocal climate intelligence platform that maps surface temperatures at 10×10 meter resolution using artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and satellite data. In cities like Abu Dhabi, it has helped reduce heat exposure in certain zones by up to 5°C, reduce cooling loads, reduce stress on infrastructure and improve public health outcomes.
The award was unveiled in front of hundreds of global sustainable tourism leaders gathered in Dubai for the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards 2025. The VIP ceremony was held at Terra, Expo City Dubai, and recognized the individuals and organizations accelerating change towards net positive tourism.
Jay Sadiq, founder and CEO of FortyGuard, said: “At FortyGuard, we see temperature not as a number, but as intelligence – a new dimension of sustainability. This award affirms that vision. It is a recognition of what is possible when technology meets purpose, and a reminder of our obligation to continue transforming temperature data into real impact – for cities, businesses and the planet.”
FortyGuard processes 15 million data points every day and works with smart city developers, research institutions and municipalities to support urban planning for climate resilience. The platform is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 9, 11 and 13 and integrates with green building standards. The freemium awareness tools expand community access to thermal data, while APIs and dashboards support citywide integration. By making heat visible, measurable and actionable, FortyGuard enables governments, planners and citizens to proactively adapt to increasing climate extremes – positioning the platform as a powerful enabler of sustainable and resilient urban tourism infrastructure.
The awards program is run in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, whose partners and members represent more than 66,000 hotels, eight million rooms worldwide, 300 brands and more than 100 supply chain and strategic partners.
Glenn Mandziuk, President & Chief Executive Officer of World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, said: “We congratulate FortyGuard on this award. This achievement reflects an outstanding commitment to innovation, collaboration and leadership in sustainable hospitality. At the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, we are proud to recognize organizations that are not only redefining excellence in guest experience, but also demonstrating that responsible business practices and sustainability are essential to the future of our industry – a net positive future for hospitality.”
Justin Cooke, Executive Vice President of the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards, said: “Our organization is committed to celebrating the individuals and companies who are setting new standards in protecting our planet for future generations – and FortyGuard is a deserving winner. It is a privilege to recognize the organisation’s achievements at our second annual Gala Ceremony, and I wish the team much success in the years to come.”
