Evian Resort in the heart of the G7 Summit | News

From June 15 to 17, Evian Resort and Hôtel Royal had the honor of welcoming heads of state and official delegations gathered for the G7 Summit, at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron. This selection reflects the confidence placed in Hôtel Royal’s expertise and its ability to meet the highest standards of hospitality, security and discretion.

Over three days, representatives of 18 nationalities gathered under one roof: G7 members, European delegations and several host countries, including Brazil, India, South Korea, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Ukraine and Switzerland.
The Evian Resort team played an essential role behind this international event. A total of 780 accredited team members contributed to the smooth organization of the Summit.

“Hosting the world’s leaders is both an honor and a responsibility that our teams have embraced with dedication and humility. Besides the organization itself, what stands out to me most is the human quality of the team that helped make this meeting a seamless and serene experience for all delegations.” François Dussart, CEO of Evian Resort.
This achievement was also the culmination of a full year of preparation. During the ten months leading up to the Summit, more than 500 people were welcomed for preparatory meetings and on-site visits, while more than 40 security inspections were carried out in coordination with various French government agencies. In just six days, the Conference Center was completely transformed, including the construction of a temporary building on the terrace where outdoor meetings and dinners for heads of state could be held.
From June 15 to 17, the resort’s food and beverage teams served more than 1,500 meals a day, including more than 1,000 at the Hôtel Royal alone. The heads of state could dine à la carte 24 hours a day, both in their suites and in the private lounges dedicated to bilateral meetings. The culinary teams worked closely with the services of the French Presidency. For the table setting, official tableware from the Presidency of the French Republic was combined with the historic silverware from Hôtel Royal. Two delegations, from Kenya and India, traveled with their own chefs, who were welcomed and integrated into the resort’s culinary brigades.

The 19 hectares of gardens surrounding Hôtel Royal provided a privileged environment for meetings and informal discussions. Between the paths of the French-style gardens, the panoramic view over Lake Geneva and the many spaces conducive to reflection, these grounds, maintained all year round by the resort’s garden teams, hosted numerous bilateral exchanges in addition to the official work sessions.
The event was also marked by several cultural highlights. A private concert in the La Source Vive concert hall brought together Renaud Capuçon, Yo-Yo Ma, Timothy Ridout and Béatrice Rana. A local children’s choir, which had impressed Mrs Macron during a preparatory visit, was also invited to perform during the evening.
For Evian Resort, hosting the G7 Summit will above all remain a reminder of an exceptional collective effort and of the trust placed in a destination whose vocation has always been to provide good
essence, hospitality and openness to the world within a single environment. The event further strengthens Evian Resort’s position as a leading international destination for hosting major global events.
