Elon Musk Ripped After ‘Cutting Off’ Lifesaving Medical Aid to Millions

Now one of USAID’s former top officials, Nicholas Enrich, has documented the agency’s dismantling in his book: Into the Wood Chipper: A Whistleblower Account of How the Trump Administration Fragmented USAID.

In a discussion with Current affairs magazine, Enrich was asked to comment on “the spectacle of the richest man in the world, a white South African, cutting off life-saving medical care to millions of people in Sub-Saharan Africa and sentencing people to death when such a small amount of money could save lives.”

Enrich responded, “Right? I think, as hard as it is to believe, this is what the people who came to this organization really didn’t understand or care about: the life-saving support we provided.

“So it was very easy for them to sit around pushing buttons, with no idea what they were doing, and ignoring the experts’ warnings that the impact of the decisions would affect the lives of millions of people.”
