ECOFRY recognized as ‘world’s leading small sustainable organisation’ | News

ECOFRY, a provider of high-quality cooking oil solutions for hospitality venues, has been recognized by voters at the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards with the title of ‘World’s Leading Small Sustainable Organization 2025’.
Sustainability is at the core of ECOFRY’s business model. From the oil it supplies to the way it gives that oil a second life, its mission is to create a circular system that benefits customers, farmers and the environment. The fresh cooking oil is grown and harvested locally, proudly supporting Australian farmers and strengthening rural communities. By purchasing close to home, the company guarantees premium quality and simultaneously reduces its ecological footprint.
The award was unveiled in front of hundreds of global sustainable tourism leaders gathered in Dubai for the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards 2025. The VIP ceremony was held at Terra, Expo City Dubai and recognized the individuals and organizations accelerating change towards net positive tourism.
John McFadden, National Sales & Marketing Manager, ECOFRY, said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognized as the world’s leading small sustainable organization by the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards. This award is a testament to our commitment to innovation, circular economy principles and supporting local communities. At ECOFRY, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from sourcing oil grown, harvested and milled in regional Australia, to transforming waste into renewable resources. We share this recognition with our dedicated partners and customers who believe in creating a cleaner, greener future for our industry”
In addition to its offering, ECOFRY strives for excellent service and delivers tailor-made solutions that make it easy for customers to work more sustainably. Once the oil has served its purpose in the kitchen, it is upcycled into renewable energy sources, including jet fuel and biodiesel, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. This closed-loop approach reflects ECOFRY’s belief that sustainability is not only good business, but also a responsibility to people, communities and the planet.
The awards program is run in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, whose partners and members represent more than 66,000 hotels, eight million rooms worldwide, 300 brands and more than 100 supply chain and strategic partners.
Glenn Mandziuk, President & Chief Executive Officer of World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, said: “We congratulate ECOFRY on this award. This achievement reflects an outstanding commitment to innovation, collaboration and leadership in sustainable hospitality. At the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, we are proud to recognize organizations that are not only redefining excellence in guest experience, but also demonstrating that responsible business practices and sustainability are essential to the future of our industry – a net positive future for hospitality.”
Justin Cooke, Executive Vice President of the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards, said: “Our organization is committed to celebrating the individuals and companies who are setting new standards in protecting our planet for future generations – and ECOFRY is a deserving winner. It is a privilege to recognize the organisation’s achievements at our second annual Gala Ceremony, and I wish the team much success in the years to come.”
