CNN Kaitlan Collins’ Huge Net Worth Revealed
Collins was born on April 7, 1992, and received what she described as a “truly apolitical upbringing” in Prattville, Alabama.
“I think it was the most national news program we saw The Today Show”, she said In Style.
Things changed when she started college at the University of Alabama, where she initially decided to major in chemistry to follow in her sister’s footsteps.
“I really struggled at first,” she said, adding that she eventually tried journalism. “I’ve always been a big reader, I love writing, maybe I should try this.”
After earning her degrees in political science and journalism, she moved to Washington, DC, to work as an entertainment reporter for The daily caller. She became a White House correspondent after Donald Trump was elected president in 2016.
“It was quite rare for a Daily caller reporter to be invited to CNN, and I knew that at the time and I was very grateful that they didn’t care about that,” she said Forbes. “They just saw me as a reporter and wanted me to come because they thought I asked good questions during the briefings.”
Collins joined CNN in 2017 as a White House correspondent – the role that launched her into the national spotlight. She was promoted to Chief White House Correspondent in 2021.
The following year, the network brought in Collins as host CNN this morning alongside Don Lemon and Poppy Harlow. She was given a new contract to host the 9 p.m. primetime hour following Lemon’s firing in April 2023.
“I am grateful and excited to join CNN’s primetime lineup for a new show with sharp interviews, fresh reporting and thoughtful conversations on the most important stories driving the news cycle,” she said at the time. “I am so grateful for my friend and co-host Poppy and will be cheering on the show CNN this morning team every day.”
