China Pavilion returns to the sunny side of the document

China makes a splash on the 36th edition of Sunny Side of the Doc with an extensive pavilion with high -profile international co -productions and two selection -frame events designed to strengthen global partnerships in the documentary space.
The Showcase revolves around two events on 24 June: China Hour in the Grand Auditorium, where participating organizations present partnership proposals and will announce cooperation plans, followed by China Night in the Maritime Museum of La Rochelle, who bring international TV broadcasters, distributors and production agencies together.
The pavilion highlights five co-productions that demonstrate the growing international cooperation of China in premium documentary content. “Geographical discovery: Exploring the Hanzhong Sinkhole Cluster” links CCTV9 with France’s Bellota films for a 52-minute exploration of China’s newly discovered zinc gates. Shot in 4K and 8K, the project is praised as “the geographical discovery of the 21st century” by international big researchers.
“Life at the Yellow River Delta, season 2” is an important partnership between China Intercontinental Communication Center, National Geographic Channel, Shandong Television and IFA Media. The series of 2 × 44 minutes investigates in the wild in four seasons and is planned to premiere on National Geographic Channel in the second half of 2025.
“Wing Chun: The Heritage of the World” breaks new terrain as the animation documentary of China’s first theme, with collaboration between China Real Image Media, One & All Culture DEV. And France’s RealWorks. The project follows the global distribution of martial art to more than 80 countries.
“Wetlands, our country” follows migrating bird routes from Eastern Asia to Australazia, with production over Russia, Singapore and New Zealand. The co -production of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation was awarded the National Radio and Television Administration ‘Outstanding Domestic Documentary of 2024’.
“Diary of Biosphere reserves” contains a Serbian anthropologist Dr. Marta Neskovic, who served as a youth representative at COP28 and presents stories from UNESCO Biosphere in a size of 2 x 45 minutes.
The Pitch -Line -Up contains six extra projects: “Voy Boys”, “Deep in My Brain”, “The Moon Is Yours”, “Letter to Yangtze River”, “Seed on the Border” and “Diary of Biosphere reserves.”
Featured programming shows titles such as “Creatures” Wonderland “,” Walking with the Spoon-Billed Sandpiper “,” Food Markets around the world “,” The way of tea: a journey to harmony “and” photo albums from a century ago. “
The China Night event reveals extra co-production announcements, including “The Great Yellow River Delta II”, “Restless Farewell” and the worldwide promotion event “Friendly Shandong, Birth city Confucius.”
