Cardi B says she spends $3 million a month, but backtracks on criticism
Cardi B wants to make one thing clear: she is not short of money!
After some followers accused the 32-year-old rapper of making brand deals to pay the bills, Cardi B was determined to set the record straight with a voice recording. posted via X on Tuesday, December 3.
“People say I survive on Shein deals and brand deals – wait, wait a minute,” she said in the voice recording. “I just want you all to know that I can wake up tomorrow and sign a contract and have half of $65 million – or half of $70 million – in the bank.”
The “WAP” artist added that she regularly spends a lot of money to support her lavish lifestyle.
“I spent like $3 million in a month,” Cardi B added.
The rapper claimed that 2024 is her “off year” when it comes to music deals, adding that she is purposely waiting to sign a tour deal until her next album release to secure a bigger payout.
“You can’t pretend you’re hungry, especially when you’re not,” Cardi B explained.
She suggested she could make $1 million per show, or $65 million total, when she ultimately opted to put pen to paper on a deal with “half the money up front at the signing of the contract” .
It’s been six years since Cardi B released her album Invasion of privacyso fans are waiting with bated breath for a collection of new music.
“I just feel like I don’t like anything. I feel like I have so many songs. I just don’t like anything. For example, nothing is good enough. I have so much damn money saved, I’m like, ‘Yeah, what the f…’,” she said via an Instagram Live in December 2022. “Making music for me has become a job that gives me anxiety because everyone just criticizes everything what I do.”
During the same Instagram Live, Cardi B talked about how becoming a mother has also contributed to her hesitation when it comes to making and releasing another album. (She and ex Offset welcomed their daughter, Kulture Kiari, in July 2018 and their son, Wave Set, in September 2021.)
“I feel like I’m too comfortable because you know — I’m just a mom and I have anxiety,” she said. “I have a lot of anxiety because I know I have to go on tour right after I release my album, and I have severe separation anxiety from my kids.”
