Buzz Aldrin, 95, dies all alone in his bed, according to a friend. “It’s about the saddest thing I’ve ever seen,” Steve Barber said.

In a photo provided exclusively to Radarthe ailing space hero could be seen staring blankly into his squalid Los Angeles apartment while receiving oxygen support through his nose.

Aldrin, wearing a NASA T-shirt, appeared dazed as he was bedridden and propped up on a small pillow.

There was a table next to the elderly star, which he could reach for a drink or a snack, as he was reportedly unable to move.

“He’s literally alone in a room,” said Barber, whose acquaintance has been Aldrin since 2004 and saw the Apollo 11 memorial in 2018. Radar.

Buzz Aldrin’s boyfriend claimed he was abandoned by his family.

“This is not the way this man should spend the last seconds of his life.”

Barber admitted that none of his friend’s children are by his side and the only company he gets is an on-call nurse as he quickly deteriorates in his “terrible little apartment” following his wife. Anca Faur‘s tragic death at the age of 66 earlier this year.

“There’s no family, there’s nothing. It’s about the saddest thing I’ve ever seen,” Barber said.

“This is not how the second man on the moon is supposed to leave Earth for the last time. That is true [part of] the first crazy crew to the moon. He could die in that situation today and that would be just terrible.”

Barber noted that this is especially true after the presidential election Donald Trump‘s signing of an executive order on December 18 calling for America’s return to the moon by 2028.

Buzz Aldrin’s good friend Steve Barber is concerned about his well-being, as we see here in better times. He said the Lunar Module Eagle pilot of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission was abandoned by his family.

Describing his recent visit, Barber added: “He was so careless about Anca. He was so sad. He says, ‘Look, I’m just so sad. I miss her so much.’ And to her credit, she has taken care of him for the past ten years. The reason he’s still alive is because of her. She did a good job there. But she’s gone. I can’t even imagine the sadness and pain he is experiencing right now. And there is no family. His family doesn’t help him.”

Barber emphasized that the ailing astronaut should not spend his final days “in his own filth” after all he has contributed to society.

‘It looks like a student’s apartment. Stuff is piled up everywhere. It’s just not right,” he said.

“This man should be given the best assisted life possible for humanity. He was on the first mission to another world. He is literally a national treasure. It’s just not fair.”

Steve Barber, Buzz Aldrin’s former driver, said the former astronaut, aeronautical engineer and fighter pilot “doesn’t deserve to die this way.”

Moreover, Barber warned, time is ticking, describing Aldrin as “at the end” of his life.

He added: “He’s on all kinds of pills and stuff. He’s almost 96. I guess pretty much everything fails.”

“The apartment is disgusting. I was just shocked,” said Barber, who tried to contact Aldrin’s son after thinking the situation occurred.

“I called his son and he said, ‘Look, that’s the life he wanted to live. He can just stay there.’ He wanted nothing to do with me, didn’t care about the situation and didn’t want to help,” the documentarian explained before shedding light on the status of Aldrin’s relationship with his three children: James, Janice And Andrew.

“He has kids, but they don’t do anything, and they never did anything. They sued him. They took all his money a few years ago,” Barber added, referring to a 2018 legal dispute in which Andrew and Janice filed for custody.

Buzz Aldrin was the second person to ever walk on the moon in 1969.

At the time, Buzz’s children claimed their father was in cognitive decline, but the aeronautical engineer denied he had suffered a mental setback and sued his children for defamation and financial abuse. James was not involved in the heated lawsuit.

“When they charged him seven years ago, when they denied him access to his bank account, I was just shocked. This is the man who created you,” Barber said.

Although Barber claimed that Buzz’s offspring are “not nice people,” he acknowledged that the father of three remains “very protective of them.”

Feeling hopeless, Barber noted, “But I’m not family. I don’t have power of attorney. I can’t go in there to pick him up.

“I have a man in San Diego who is a multi-millionaire who would send a limousine and we would take him somewhere nice today. He is a very dear friend and has worked with Buzz for 30 years. He is also concerned.

‘I have a circle of friends who all know him. We are all concerned, but what can we do? We’re not related.’

Barber believes things have gotten even worse after the former fighter pilot’s late wife died Oct. 28 at the age of 66 after privately battling an aggressive form of cancer.

“He’s so confused because his wife died,” he said, pointing out that Buzz is dying of a broken heart. “He’s not doing well.”

Despite his declining health and poor mental state, Buzz surprisingly recognized his friend Steve during their recent visit.

Recalled his friend: “He knew who I was and he said, ‘I just miss Anca, I just miss her so much.’ His health has deteriorated considerably in recent years. When he turned 95, things really fell, and then she died [it got worse].

“He sleeps until about three or four in the afternoon. They picked him up. He was walking. But I was there an hour before he could get up and see me. His cognitive skills that day were okay, but not great. We took some pictures, hung out and ate. But I would say he is not functional in any way. He can’t get up. He can’t drive, he can’t walk. He needs help.”

Buzz Aldrin has been ‘abandoned’ by his children, according to friend Steve Barber.

Barber, who said he has “scolded” Buzz’s children for the way they treated their father, added: “His children have abandoned him. I want to get him out of there.”

After speaking to one of Buzz’s sons, Barber claims he was told, “This is the way my dad wanted to live. This was his choice. He can live in it.”

Barber recalled responding, “I was like, are you kidding me? [Anca is] away. You need to get on a plane and come take care of your father.”

But there was “no interest,” he sadly shared. “There’s not much love lost here between father and son.”

Radar attempted to contact Buzz’s children for comment but did not receive a response by time of publication.
