Brewed at high altitude: British Airways expands partnership with Grind to offer bespoke coffee blend | News

The roast is carefully crafted from an equal trio of Brazilian estates, the smoky blend delivering a rich, full flavor in every cup. Using special Arabica beans, it offers a smooth, dark roasted cup with notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut and roasted pecans that provide great flavor.

The airline’s customers traveling on First will be offered Grind’s popular dark roasted espresso-based coffee, prepared to their preference using Grind’s signature house blend or decaffeinated pods. This dark roasted blend, complete with notes of chocolate, almond and caramel, will also be available in the airline’s UK lounges, giving customers the complete bean-to-brew experience. In the lounge, customers can choose from a variety of barista-style self-serve coffee options.

Tim Jackson, British Airways Master of Wine, said: “We are proud to be the first airline to serve Grind in the skies and to take our partnership further by bringing this Shoreditch favorite to millions of customers traveling to more than 200 destinations worldwide.

“The dark roast blends have been carefully selected to suit every stage of the journey, whether that’s a welcome caffeine boost while working in our lounges, stimulating the senses in the air or offering a comforting cuppa before landing. It’s another step in championing British quality as we continue to improve our drinks portfolio, with more to come this year as part of our multi-million pound investment.”

David Abrahamovitch, Founder and CEO of Grind, said: “We are incredibly proud to extend our partnership with British Airways, an iconic British brand that represents the very best of British quality and service – values that are of great importance to us as a London-born, British brand. For Grind to grow from a single café in Shoreditch to British Airways’ premium coffee partner worldwide in just over a decade is a huge moment for our team. We have already had an incredible two years on board European flights and we hope British Airways customers will do the same.” lounges and on board long-haul flights will be just as excited about the new blends we have created.”

This partnership is part of the airline’s multi-million investment in its beverage portfolio. Earlier this year, British Airways introduced an expanded wine program with a selection of new additions, including Rock Angel, previously served in First and now available in Club World. Every quarter, the airline champions a different destination to offer its premium customers more variety and choice.

This season, British Airways presents Lisbon and Southern Portugal with notable wines such as Herdade do Mouchão in First and Cartuxa Colheita Branco Évora in Club World, spotlighting producers from this emerging region. British Airways is also serving a rotating selection of prestige cuvée champagnes for customers traveling in First, starting the year with both Charles Heidsieck’s Blanc des Millénaires and Rare.

Last year, British Airways announced award-winning British tea manufacturer Birchall as its new tea partner, offering customers Britain’s most awarded flavored tea.
