Brandon had three brothers and sisters. He, Chassidy and Shawna are the children of father Narvel Blackstock and first woman Elisa Gayle Ritter. Narvel, 68, later welcomed his son Shelby with MENTIRE in 1990. Narvel and Mentire were eventually divorced in 2015 before the Happy’s Place Star continued with Linn, 68.

Five months after the Outing of the Rodeo family, Brandon died at the age of 48.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has died,” a family spokesperson said US Weekly In a Thursday August 7, statement. “Brandon fought bravely against cancer for more than three years. He died peacefully and was surrounded by family.”
The statement concluded: “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time.”
Brandon usually resigned after he and Clarkson, 43, separated in 2022, to Montana moved to work as a rancher. Clarkson also supported her ex-husband in the midst of his cancer fight.
“Although they went through a bitter divorce, Kelly made a conscious decision to protect Brandon’s privacy until the end of their family,” a source said Us. “He had been sick for a while, but his health really made a turn earlier this year. Out of respect, Kelly chose nothing to say publicly until it became clear this week that Brandon would not make it.”
A day before Brandon, Clarkson confirmed that she would postpone the rest of her August concerts.
