AI-created Indian musical microdrama ‘Mohini’ unveils debut track

“Angaat Aalay Ka”, the opening song of the AI-created musical microdrama “Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar”, has been released by India’s Equinox Virtual, the company created by producer and storyteller Amita Madhvani.
Rooted in the folk traditions of the western Indian state of Maharashtra, the song comes at a crucial moment in the drama’s story – when the main character, Mohini, reconnects with the force that has long defined her: dance. The production is built entirely with AI tools, with Madhvani working with co-creators to write the multilingual lyrics and compose the music through Suno, a leading AI music generation platform.
The drama revolves around Mohini, a gifted Kathak dancer whose life changes after she loses her father, the person who stood up for her the most. Years later, while living in Mumbai and retreating into the anonymity of the background noise, she is gradually drawn back to the stage. Dance, sadness and memory carry the story forward as Mohini works to rediscover her artistic identity.
‘Angaat Aalay Ka’ functions as both the emotional and musical gateway to that arc – the moment when the character first experiences the raw pleasure and freedom that a performance unlocks, against the backdrop of the quieter private emotions that lurk beneath the surface.
Madhvani, co-founder and CEO of Equinox Virtual, said, “I see myself as a generative creator. Every generation finds new tools for expression, but the goal remains the same: to evoke a feeling. At its core, Mohini is about what happens when life asks you to put aside what you love most, and what it feels like when you finally return to it. ‘Angaat Aalay Ka’ captures that first spark; the joy, surrender and passion that makes you feel truly alive. AI gave us new tools to create, but emotion has always been the real storyteller.”
The project reflects Equinox Virtual’s focus on microdramas built around outsized emotions: short stories told through music, dance and stories designed to travel across cultures. The company was co-founded by Ram Madhvani and Amita Madhvani, who expressed an ambition to expand the world of “Mohini” beyond digital screens into live musical experiences.
