‘Bling Empire’ star Lynn Ban underwent brain surgery after a skiing accident
Lynn Ban, a jewelry designer from Netflix’s “Bling Empire: New York,” opened up about a skiing accident during the holiday season that left her with a craniotomy.
On Monday, Ban posted a photo of her lying in a hospital bed with stitches in her skull. She shared how she enjoyed a family vacation in Aspen on Christmas Eve. “At the top of the mountain I caught a tip and planted it in my face,” Ban wrote on Instagram.
Ban, who was wearing a helmet, was checked by the ski patrol and suffered a concussion. Ultimately, she had a CAT scan at the hospital that ‘saved’ [her] to live.”
“They judged me and I was acquitted. I had a bit of a headache, but thought that after lunch I would be fine and I could ski again. The paramedic suggested I go to hospital for a cat scan. This saved my life,” she wrote.
Ban recalled what little she remembers of the accident: “I went with Jett in a taxi [Kain] and within 30 minutes they told us I had a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital. The last thing I remember is being intubated and waking up after an emergency craniotomy with Jett by my side.”
Dorothy Wang, Ban’s co-star in “Bling Empire: New York,” shared her support on her Instagram post, saying, “So glad you’re doing well and have your incredible tribe by your side.” I send you all my love and wish you healing.” Ban thanked ski patrol first responders and said she is recovering: “In the blink of an eye, life can change.”
Ban appeared in ‘Bling Empire: New York’, a spin-off of the main series ‘Bling Empire’ that aired in 2023. The show follows a group of wealthy Asian-Americans from New York City and their lavish, luxurious costumes and parties. Ban is also the owner of Lynn Ban Jewelry; her designs have been worn by Rihanna, Beyoncé and Billy Porter, among others.
