Chelsea Lazkani’s Ex-Jeff Claims She Wrote ‘Unauthorized Checks’
Selling sunset star Chelsea Lazkani‘s estranged husband, Jeff Lazkaniclaims she is delaying their divorce proceedings.
Per documents obtained by We weeklyJeff, 40, claimed Chelsea, 31, is engaging in “delaying tactics” by “asking for protection she is not entitled to.” Jeff proceeded to poke holes in her requests she recently filed with the court.
Jeff claimed that the Netflix star and real estate agent is requesting to be named as the sole beneficiary of several bank accounts, but the accounts have been closed.
“Like [Chelsea] is aware that these accounts have been closed due to the fact that [she] wrote unauthorized checks after her divorce and filing date [divorce] petition against this account, which was my personal account,” the documents say. “Therefore, there is no such account of which she can be the beneficiary.”
Jeff also claimed that Chelsea wants compensation for any tax liabilities “but she fails to inform the court that the parties have filed separate taxes” in 2023.
“[She] is self-employed, I cannot verify the income shown on her tax return nor the large number of items she writes off, which is why I have chosen to file separate tax returns,” the documents say.
Jeff also pointed to her request that the court order him to “maintain health insurance.” He claimed he paid for her health insurance throughout their marriage and since their divorce.
“It was clear to me that I would continue to have health insurance,” the documents say. “I have always made it clear that I will definitely take out insurance for our children. They are my number one priority and I have done everything I can to protect them throughout this process.”
Jeff, who shares Maddox, 4, and Melia, 4, with Chelsea, claimed that “irreconcilable differences have arisen that have led to the irreparable breakdown of our marriage.”
“I do not believe that the passage of time, guidance or any other assistance from the Court can save our marriage. I don’t believe in it under any circumstances [Chelsea] and I was able to resolve our issues and reunite,” the documents say. “In reality, [she] has publicly used tactics against me and has been untruthful about accusations made publicly about me, to the detriment of our ability to communicate. I hope this will eventually be resolved so that something can be made right for the good of our children.”
Jeff claimed that the main reason why he and Chelsea have not been able to settle their case is due to “unnecessary delays.”
If Us previously reported, Jeff asked the court in October to split their case so that the one-time couple could be legally single first before finalizing other issues in their divorce.
“I would like to move on with my life and request the court to terminate my marital status,” the documents said. “I believe that moving to a state split will reduce the number of remaining problems [Chelsea] and I will streamline the issues and help us better focus on our children and divide our assets.”
Chelsea filed for divorce from Jeff in March after seven years of marriage, and he filed a response the following month. Neither Chelsea nor Jeff have revealed what led to their split.
