Brett Favre takes an optimistic approach to his battle with Parkinson’s… telling TMZ Sports he “can’t complain” about his lot in life – although he did admit that sometimes he struggles because “when I wake up in the morning I feel like a plank.”
The Hall of Famer opened up about his illness Thursday afternoon… and watch his interview with us, it’s clear he’s staying super positive despite the dire diagnosis.
The 55-year-old says doctors caught everything extremely early. “In fact,” he told us, “my doctor said you might be the first patient I’ve ever seen come in.”
He added that his medication has made all of his symptoms manageable… and he remains optimistic about the possibility of an impending cure.
But the ex-Green Bay Packers superstar did say there’s one thing about the ordeal that bothers him: a few tight muscles in the morning.
“With my Parkinson’s, the main side effect is stiffness and stiffness,” he said. “I’m shaking a little, but not much. But stiffness and stiffness.”
“When I wake up in the morning, I feel like a plank,” he continued. “I don’t need any help from football to get stiffer. But all things considered, I’m a very blessed man.”

Favre was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s in January after problems with his right arm and hand. In September he has revealed the diagnosis to the public during a hearing on Capitol Hill.
Since then, Favre told us he’s felt a lot of love from friends, family, and other supporters — and even tried different treatments to deal with the issue.
