Son of Norwegian Crown Princess jailed over new allegations of sexual abuse

The son of Norway’s Crown Princess is behind bars as police investigate new allegations of sexual assault against him.
RadarOnline.com can reveal that 27-year-old Marius Borg Hoiby has already been charged with a sexual encounter “with someone who is unconscious or otherwise unable to resist the act,” police said.

Hoiby’s arrest has shocked the Norwegian royal family.

But in a new twist, a judge ruled on Wednesday night that he must be kept behind bars for a week – while police investigate claims he assaulted not one, but two women.
Any claim against the young royal involves a “sexual encounter without intercourse,” a police spokesman said.
Hoiby – the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit – was arrested on Monday for the third time since late summer.

Hoiby has recognized the drug problems.

He was previously arrested in August after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend.
Early charges included bodily harm and criminal damage before he was released.
On Tuesday, police said suspicions related to the August incident now include domestic violence.
Police arrested him again in September for violating a restraining order when he allegedly contacted his ex.
His latest arrest came after new information emerged as part of an ongoing investigation.
Prosecutor Andreas Kruszewski claims Hoiby sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in Oslo earlier this year.

Hoiby is the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Monday’s arrest came after 11 p.m. when police found him in a car with the same alleged victim.
Police also said he has been booked for driving without a valid license.
Hoiby’s home, close to where his mother and the crown prince live, has reportedly been searched by police.
The 27-year-old was previously charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriends Julianne Snekkestad and Nora Haukland, and with threatening a man.
Hoiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is the stepson of the Norwegian heir: Crown Prince Haakon.
Local reports say the Norwegian royal family has refused to comment on his latest arrest.
Hoiby was born in 1997 from a relationship prior to Mette-Marit’s 2001 marriage to Crown Prince Haakon.

He and his step-siblings, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 20, and Prince Sverre Magnus, 18, were raised together by Mette-Marit and Haakon.
Unlike them, he has no official public role.
The Norwegian royal family was rocked by Hoiby’s first arrest in early August, after a woman, Rebecca Helberg Arntsen, was left in hospital with her injuries following the attack.

A week after his arrest, Hoiby admitted to the attack on Rebecca, whom he called his “girlfriend” (her lawyers have refuted this claim).
In a statement released through his own attorney, Hoiby said he suffers from “several mental health disorders” and has “long struggled with substance abuse,” for which he said he is resuming treatment.
The statement read: “Last weekend something happened that should never have happened. I caused bodily harm and destroyed property in an apartment under the influence of alcohol and cocaine after an argument.
“I have several mental health disorders, which means I have had and continue to have challenges throughout my upbringing and adult life. I have long struggled with substance abuse, something for which I have sought treatment in the past.”
