Pamela Anderson Shares Why She Shed Her Bimbo Persona After ‘Baywatch’

Pamela Anderson has finally “come off the rollercoaster of emotions” as she leaves her “blonde bimbo” persona behind 30 years after her Baywatch days.
The actress is entering a bold new era in her fifties and leaving her glamour, iconic figure and messy love life behind her forever, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Anderson quickly became a sex symbol at the height of Baywatch’s popularity in the 1990s, even becoming one of the most recognized Playboy models of all time.
But having long since ditched her red swimsuit and image as an international sex symbol, the actress has become better known as an animal rights activist and supporter of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Now Anderson has reinvented herself as a serious actress who is eligible for an Oscar for her latest film role.
While attending the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain, where her new film The last showgirl received a standing ovation and critical acclaim, the 57-year-old actress opened up about her next chapter in her life.

She told Hello!: “I think it’s inspiring to be a woman in your 50s.”
“I’ve come off the roller coaster of emotions over the last few decades. I barely remember them, but here I am, and with all this experience.”

Anderson added: “A lot of my career has been about physicality, and it’s been a journey, but it’s also been part of the reason I did this experiment on myself; to pull it all back, to remember who I am and not be defined. by what people do to me, but defined by what I do, and having passion for the work and not becoming bitter or jaded – still finding joy in the process, in life and in this business.
Anderson’s personal life exploded into the public eye following her troubled marriage to rocker Tommy Lee, the father of her sons Brandon, 28, and Dylan, 26.

She then had four more short-lived marriages with singer Kid Rock, poker player Rick Salomon, producer Jon Peters and bodyguard Dan Hayhurst.
With a growing fascination for the actress comes the miniseries Pam & Tommy was released in 2022 – which Anderson said was made without her consent and was “really crushing for her”.

Anderson plays the main character of Shelley, someone the actress says she has a close bond with.

She explained, “I was drawn to the script and felt a kinship. I’ve never really been offered a role like this before, so I was excited.”
“Another characteristic I related to was Shelley’s belief in glamor – and how it ended.”
“I used my personal experience to find ways to summarize a life that is almost impossible to put into words – what I have experienced since Playboy Unpleasant Baywatch to all these different things – and try to navigate and relate to the script.”

The actress was cast as CJ Parker in the popular Beachy series in 1992 and left the steamy show in 1997.
While attending the Zurich Film Festival for the premiere of The last showgirl earlier this month she admitted: “I’m just happy to be here right now because I think I’ve had depression for a few decades.”

Anderson said she “always knew she was capable of more”, adding: “It’s great to be part of pop culture, but it’s a blessing and a curse.”
Shortly before that, RadarOnline.com revealed how Anderson said her drug use almost led her down the same path as Amy Winehouse.
The actress also said that she “felt like a failure” for the past 20 years and that she recently started to accept herself.
