Scheana Shay confirms that Katie Maloney is dating ‘Sweet Guy’ Nick Martin

Getty images (3)Katie Maloney may not discuss the rumors that she is dating the Sleeping With Sirens guitarist Niek Martin – But Scheana Shay gave Vanderpump Rules fans the scoop.
“I met him this weekend. We were all standing by the artist trailers in the hangout, and he and Katie walked over while I stood in line at the taco truck to get food. I said hi to her,” Shay, 39, recalled on the Friday, Oct. 25 episode her “Scheananigans” podcast. “She introduced me to her boyfriend.”
Noting that not all Bravo viewers were excited about the pairing, Shay added, “There’s been a few things online lately. I’ve seen little bits and pieces. But I can tell you: he couldn’t have been nicer.”
At the same event, Shay got to know Martin, 41, a little better.

“He’s from San Diego and we just talked about that. Then I ran into them again later at the hotel at the end of the night, and he was just such a sweet guy. I caught the end of their set,” she continued. “We actually left Fall Out Boy a little early because they were playing at the same time. But I wanted to check out Sleeping with Sirens. I wanted to see what the band stood for. They were really good.”
Shay was thrilled to meet the new man in Maloney’s life, saying, “It was fun.” I was happy to see her, meet him, see the band and overall it was a really fun weekend.
Maloney, 37, surprised fans when she revealed she was dating someone earlier this month. “I have a boyfriend,” she shared on the Oct. 16 episode of her and Dayna Kathan‘s “Disrespectful” podcast. “Yes, I’m in love, y’all. I’m really happy.”
Despite discussing their relationship, Maloney chose not to name the mystery man.

“This weekend I went to my friend’s house. He has to travel for work so I went to meet him and spend some time with him,” she said. “It was really great because I hadn’t seen him in a few weeks and it was really necessary and really nice to just spend some quality time and just be around him.”

Maloney’s only other public romance – following her divorce in 2022 Vanderpump Rules costar Tom Schwartz – was a brief encounter with Max Boyens aka Schwartz’s best friend and Dayna’s ex-boyfriend. “I never felt like I was given priority. He didn’t really support me or defend me or make me feel supported or heard. I just wanted that confirmation from him. So I made myself smaller in certain ways. I lost myself. I was a shell of a woman,” Maloney said during the September 2023 episode of the “Almost Adulting” podcast, a year after her divorce was finalized. “It took me working on myself in general – not really because of all that – but I wasn’t feeling great in my body and in general. I wanted to increase my self-confidence and just started working on myself.”
Maloney made it clear at the time that she did not regret her decision.
“I didn’t ask for the world. I asked if someone would show up for me, but that wasn’t possible. Over and over again. It just became a voice that got louder and louder and I couldn’t deny it anymore,” she added. “It took months – a period of months – and I just got to a point where I thought I had to get real with myself and with him. I just knew. I became emotionally withdrawn. I still loved him, but the love between us – that connection – that romance was no longer there.
