According to reports, discussions have also taken place about a possible meeting between Charles and his grandchildren.

The king has not seen Archie and Lilibet in person since Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

A palace official said: ‘There is a genuine desire among some family members to move on. “Any opportunity for the king to spend time with his grandchildren would be considered important given the limited contact there has been in recent years.”

Reports have suggested that several royal residences are being considered as accommodation options when Harry visits Britain – including Buckingham Palace, which is currently undergoing a renovation project costing around $500 million, as well as St James’s Palace, Windsor Castle and Frogmore Cottage.

However, relations between Harry and his brother, Prince William, 44, remain tense.

William is not expected to meet Harry during his summer holiday back to his home country, with reports suggesting the brothers have not spoken since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.

Last year, Harry met Charles privately at Clarence House following the King’s cancer diagnosis and is said to have brought a framed photo of Archie and Lilibet to show his father at the meeting.
