Prime Video Unveils Cast of German-Language Original Series ‘Superior’
Prime Video has unveiled the cast of the German-language original series ‘Superior’, set in the world’s top hotel management school. Filming takes place in Bavaria and Switzerland.
Combining an elite setting, stories of young love and a murder mystery, the six-part drama takes viewers behind the perfectly orchestrated scenes of the luxury hotel industry. But appearances can be deceiving: dark secrets lurk behind the facade.
Franziska Margarete Hoenisch directs a cast of emerging actors and actresses, led by Zoe Fürmann as Ricca, Jonathan Kriener as Joel, Kjell Brutscheidt as Maximilian, Lukas von Horbatschewsky as Tarek, Jule Hermann as Florence and Manal Raga a Sabit as Amina, with cinematography by Julian Krubasik. The series also stars Birgit Minichmayr, Benjamin Sadler, Merlin Rose, Peter Lohmeyer and Nick Romeo Reimann.
In the exclusive Swiss Hotel Academy Walding, life seems more beautiful, grander and more glamorous than anywhere else. Between champagne, white truffle, luxury hotel suites and the highs and lows of first love, dreams seem within reach. But beneath the pristine surface, tensions simmer: an explicit story about adult content, forbidden things and a rivalry gone wrong sends shockwaves through the world of the elite.
Ricca in particular must protect her secret at all costs: to secure her scholarship, she has falsified a crucial detail on her resume – and fellow student Joel threatens to expose her dark past. Will he betray her – or can she trust him? Against all reason, Ricca falls in love with him. What she doesn’t realize yet is that Joel is also deceiving everyone. It’s only a matter of time before all the secrets come to light. With deadly consequences.
“Superior,” which is a working title, is produced by Swiss production company Zodiac Pictures in collaboration with MMC Zodiac. Jessica Hefti, Lukas Hobi and Reto Schaerli serve as executive producers, with Lennart Lenzing as producer. The scripts were written by lead writer Adrian Spring, who also created the series, along with Ruth Rehmet and John-Hendrik Karsten.
