Tokyu Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd. (THR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) to collaborate in promoting sustainable tourism and sustainable hotel operations in line with international sustainability standards.
The MOU was signed by Takashi Takei, President & Representative Director of Tokyu Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd., and Randy Durband, Chief Executive Officer of GSTC.
Under the MOU, Tokyu Hotels & Resorts will adopt the GSTC standards as a framework for developing and implementing its sustainability roadmap, objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs) and related initiatives. Based on the GSTC standards, THR will seek to improve products, services and operational systems that take into account environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability. By leveraging the GSTC standards and expertise, we will further strengthen our sustainability initiatives and integrate these principles throughout our organization.
