‘Call My Agent’ ready to be adapted to the Spanish language in Madrid

Worldwide sensation “Call My Agent!” is set for a glamorous Spanish-language adaptation starring two-time Goya Award winner Javier Gutiérrez (“La Isla Mínima,” “El Autor”), Marta Hazas (“Velvet,” “Días mejores”) and Goya Award winner Manuela Velasco (“velvet”).

The series set in Madrid is produced by Mediawan’s renowned Spanish band Good Mood, whose previous credits include ‘I’m Alive’, ‘The Fence’, ‘The Accident’ and ‘Deudas’. Mediaset Espana’s Telecinco is co-producer of the show and commissioned it.

Filming starts in two weeks on location in Madrid. Daniel Écija, the respected founder of Good Mood, who has more than thirty series and eight films to his name, is executive producer of ‘The Agencia’. The rest of the cast and cameos will be announced at a later stage.

The original French series, titled ’10 Pour Cent’, achieved high ratings for four seasons on local broadcaster France Televisions, and ranked as the most watched shows on Netflix under the English title ‘Call My Agent’. “10 Pour Cent” was also a critical hit and won an International Emmy Award. Along with its laurels, the show became a pop culture phenomenon and saw its lead actors become major stars, most notably Camille Cottin and Laure Calamy.

The Mediawan-produced series became a global format that has already been adapted for more than a dozen countries, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Turkey, India and Canada.

Set at one of Spain’s largest talent agencies, the Spanish-language adaptation charts the hectic lives of four agents, along with their assistants and the artists as they juggle conflict, infidelity, impossible love and crazy situations at work and at home. True to the DNA of “Call My Agent,” “La Agencia” will weave comedy and drama, depicting the main characters’ clashing egos as they compete internally to sign the hottest stars and make the splashiest contracts without defeating the purpose to lose sight of: retaining the best stars. their agency at the top in a highly competitive environment.

A remake of “Call My Agent!” is also in the works for key Spanish American territories, co-produced by Mediawan and Eva Longoria, who will also serve as director.
